As a sequel to the case posted on Friday (13y, Friday Frown), have a look at the following waves in sleep.

In figure 1 above there are spikes at T4-C4 (red vertical lines) and vertex waves (during the first second and the last two seconds of the above page).

The above images illustrate the point that I made in the post on Friday that vertex waves may be remarkably sharp, high in amplitude and appear as a sequence of waves. The morphology of some of the above waves is nearly identical to those posted here 13y, Friday Frown. You will appreciate how easily these physiologically normal waves may be confused with spikes and spike and wave. The spikes at T4-C4 continue to be designated by the red vertical lines.
