F7 and F8 are 2 of the electrodes that are most prone to come adrift during prolonged recordings. There are various ways to deal with this problem when reviewing the recording, which can look even more messy than the following example:

 

 

In sport the substitutes' bench provides backup in the event of injury; one of the solutions to the above problem is to substitute F7 with M1, ensuring that your brain is not befuddled by lines going in a myriad of directions. After all, there is no law against doing this!

 

I am sure you'll agree that the following page is a lot easier to read once M1 has come off the substitutes' bench! You can see the volume conduction of the right posterior temporal spikes to the left hemisphere.
